Am I Eligible?

To qualify for the Care Cruisers program, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of Stanislaus County
  • Be 50 years or older
  • Have a disability that prevents you from driving or using public transit
  • Do not have someone available to drive you some or all of the time
  • Cannot use ADA paratransit services because you require door-through-door assistance

Where Care Cruisers Travels

Care Cruisers is a complimentary service available using MOVE vehicles exclusively within Stanislaus County, and while it cannot provide out-of-county trips, it has proven to be a vital resource to improve quality of life for those who have no other reliable means of transportation.

You are eligible for the Care Cruisers program if you are:
– Someone who is 50 years of age and older who cannot use ADA paratransit service because they require door-through-door assistance.
– A Stanislaus County resident.
– You have a disability that prevents you from driving or using other forms of public transit.
– You don’t have someone to drive you either some or all of the time.

Applying is quick and easy. Just call (209) 672-1143 and choose Option 1 to speak with a MOVE staff member. A short telephone interview will help determine your Care Cruisers eligibility and get you started on your journey to increased independence.

Care Cruisers is a complementary service for qualified individuals.

Of course! MOVE has many different programs to help increase independence and help you get to where you need to go. Simply talk with one of our staff members to find the program that fits your needs.

– Care Cruisers Trips can be scheduled by calling 209-672-1143 Option 1, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
– Please make sure to have the name and complete address for your pick-up and drop-off locations when you call
– Trips for medical appointments and healthcare related tasks (like pharmacy trips) may be scheduled up to six months in advance. Healthcare-related reservations always receive first priority.
– Trips for shopping or important quality of life events may be scheduled seven days in advance.
– Next day trips are occasionally accepted based on the space available.

– Healthcare related trips (doctor’s appointments, pharmacy visits, lab tests, imaging, etc.)
– Shopping (grocery shopping, general shopping, etc.)
– Quality of Life events (errands such as the post office, bank, social events, and so forth).

If a friend, relative, or care provider will be traveling with you, please let Care Cruisers know at the time of booking so we can ensure space in the vehicle is available for you both.
